We’ve all been there; deciding it’s time to focus or refocus on our health. It’s time to eat better, be more active or get better sleep. Once you’ve made that decision, what comes next? A big, bold change to your routine?  But healthy living doesn’t have to mean making dramatic changes overnight. Often, it starts with small, practical choices: moving a little more, eating well, managing stress, staying connected and making time for activities that help us feel our best.

That’s why AARP offers free programs, events and online resources designed to help you build healthy habits at every age. Whether you’re looking to improve fitness, support brain health, learn new wellness strategies or care for a loved one, there are tools and information available to help.

Throughout the year, AARP hosts free virtual and in-person classes covering topics such as exercise, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep and home safety. Many sessions focus on simple, realistic tips that you can put to use right away. One of our resources is a program called Staying Sharp®.  It is based on a holistic, lifestyle approach to brain health that encourages users to incorporate into their daily lives activities that are associated with general wellness.

This September, AARP is offering a variety of Exercise & Wellness events that can help participants improve balance, build strength, reduce stress and stay active. In Western Massachusetts, residents can also connect through local programs and events in the Berkshires that encourage learning, social connection and community engagement.

Getting outdoors can be an important part of staying healthy, too. This fall, AARP members and guests can enjoy a day at New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, where scenic walking paths, seasonal displays and beautiful gardens offer an opportunity to get moving, relax and spend time with others. Well-being extends beyond physical activity. Safe and comfortable homes, strong social connections and support for family caregivers all play an important role in living well as we age. AARP provides information and resources in each of these areas, helping people navigate everyday challenges and opportunities.

Good health isn’t about perfection. It’s about taking small steps that add up over time. Whether you attend a wellness class, explore an online resource or spend a day outdoors, AARP can help you find practical ways to stay active, informed and connected. Learn more at aarp.org/ma.
